Hello All,
I've personally raced motocross at airway for 15 years on and off. At this point, I have a 13 year old daughter that has grown up riding quads and recently stand up Jet Ski's. She likes driving karts at differeent places she has been to. Amusement parks, etc etc.
She thought if there was a beginner class she might try the go kart racing.
Any suggestions on how to start someone out in a kids class would be appreciated.
Thanks,
James

My suggestion would be to try and find a kart to try first. She's the age that will slot into what's called Jr. 2 in karting which is 12-15yrs, they run in a full sized adult chassis. There are a couple classes which run at this age level. I would suggest a Briggs LO206, and find a good used Rolling chassis. If you could find a complete used kart that's even easier. Some will depend on your budget as well. I'm from a different club, but Tim Dragoo is the SKRA president and a great guy so he can also help guide you.
Let me know if you have more questions and I can break down this whole karting thing as I've been in it awhile. Also operate a trackside support shop in Tri-Cities and can get any kart related products and safety gear you may need.
